Reid Family Scholarship Applications Are Now Open

The Reid Family Scholarship provides a one-time gift of $2,000 to Orillia and area individuals entering post-secondary education for a healthcare-related field. The Reid Family Scholarship is provided through the generosity of the late Mr. William and Mrs. Joan Reid.   They believed in the importance of education and the need for highly trained healthcare professionals, which led to the development of this scholarship. Since its inception, the Reid Family Scholarship has assisted students in their healthcare education.

Eligibility Requirements:

• You are graduating from an Orillia high school
• You are applying for a healthcare-related program at a recognized college or university
• Demonstrated financial need
• Academic achievement
• Community/extracurricular involvement/volunteerism
• Leadership
• Work History

Selection Process:
The Scholarship Selection Committee, formed by and accountable to the Board of Directors of Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital Foundation, will review all applications.

At the discretion of the selection committee, qualified areas of study may include, but are not limited to:

  • Medicine
  • Nursing
  • Physiotherapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Psychology
  • Nutrition
  • PSW/DSW
  • Pharmacy
  • Speech-language pathology
  • Diagnostic imaging
  • Biology
  • Chemistry

Application Deadline: Complete applications may be submitted by emailing [email protected]. All applications for the Reid Family Scholarship must be received by 12:30 pm Friday, June 28, 2024.
