Staff Lottery and Employee Giving

The giving spirit is alive and well at Soldiers’! Our staff members are passionate about what they do and the lives they touch, going above and beyond every day to keep our community healthy. They also participate in our various fundraising events and philanthropic efforts to benefit the Hospital.

Soldiers’ Staff Lottery

Every two weeks, the Foundation holds a Soldiers’ Staff Lottery Draw. This 50/50 lottery, authorized by OLG and run by the Foundation, is only open to current Soldiers’ staff with a valid employee number as well as to physicians and volunteers. A winner is selected every payday and participants can be entered through automated payroll deduction or direct payment.

The cost to enroll is $5 per ticket. The payout can reach $1,875 per draw! Past winners are eligible to win again. Tickets are issued on a first come, first served basis.

Proceeds from the lottery are used to purchase vital equipment for the Hospital.

To participate, please download and complete the Staff Lottery Form and return it to the Foundation Office.

If you would like to end your participation in the lottery, please download and complete the Opt Out Form and return it to the Foundation Office.

Employee Giving Program

The Employee Giving Program is a way for Soldiers’ staff to give back to the Hospital by making monetary donations via payroll deduction or a preauthorized payment plan. Employees who participate do so because they are proud to be part of the exceptional healthcare provided at Soldiers’ and their personal dedication sends a powerful message to the community.

Every employee, credentialed staff member and volunteer who gives has a different reason for participating. Some have personal experiences of being cared for at the Hospital, others want to support their community and some see a specific need and want to help in their own department.

Whatever the reason, there are many flexible options to ensure an employee’s donation reflects what is important to them.

Why Others Give

The hospital is the heart of the community in so many ways. Those of us who have the privilege to work at OSMH know from the inside what it takes to make it a place where people and their families feel connected and cared for. When the OSMH family leads by example in giving back to the foundation, we help the community to create a powerful legacy. I give a regular monthly amount that adds up over time to a gift I am proud of year after year. The hospital is my charity of choice because I know who will benefit, and that is everyone I care about.

As the VP of Patient Care Services, Regional Programs and the Chief Nursing Executive for over 7 years, I see the tremendous patient care that is provided to our patients & families every day by our staff, physicians and volunteers.  Although I try hard to recognize those efforts, I wanted to give a more tangible recognition; the Employee Giving Program has afforded me that opportunity. Through my regular contributions I know that I’m giving back to the OSMH family and the patients they serve. My donation will contribute to assisting in the purchase of clinical equipment that will assist the staff/physicians in their day to day work and ultimately support the care they are able to provide to our patients. Being a Senior Leader at OSMH is truly a privilege and the iGive Family Campaign has been a wonderful way of expressing that!
