The online auction for the 24th Annual Soldiers’ Hospital Not-So-Classic Golf Tournament, presented by Tatham Engineering and Bill McKenzie & Family is now open. Sponsored by Laclie Pharmacy, the auction features a number of great items to bid on, including local experiences, NHL fan gear, patio enhancements — like a Broil King barbeque — golf packages and much more, all in support of the MRI Replacement Project at Soldiers’. The auction is live online at HospitalClassic.ca until June 25th at 6 pm.
“As with many of our events over this past year, we’ve had to make some unique, yet positive adjustments to adapt to the current environment,” said Hunter Markle, Development Officer – Annual Giving with the OSMH Foundation. “The hybrid format allows us to fundraise for our Hospital while supporting our local golf clubs, restaurants and businesses without the risk big gatherings pose. We are so grateful to everyone who donated to the auction and encourage our community to check out all the wonderful items up for bid!”
In lieu of a traditional golf tournament, the Foundation has partnered with six local golf courses and five local restaurants to create individual, foursome and family golf and dining packages, priced from $150-$600 that can be used any time throughout the 2021 golf season. The proceeds from the sale of the packages, the silent auction and an online 50/50 raffle will contribute to the overall success of the event and support the replacement of the aging MRI unit at Soldiers’.
The 50/50 raffle is open to all Ontario residents over the age of 18. The prize pot is currently over $23,000 and counting. The Early Bird winner has already been drawn. Elizabeth Olson of Orillia won two golf passes to the Not-So-Classic golf tournament and dinner for two. The final draw for the 50/50 is June 25th at 2pm. Tickets can be purchased online at Soldiers5050.ca or by phone at 705-325-6464.
Since 1997, the Hospital Classic has raised more than $2.3 million in support of Soldiers’.
