What is an online city-wide silent auction?
It’s just like a normal silent auction, but it happens entirely online! No paper bidding. No line ups to view items. No pens with dried up ink.
Everyone can participate! We are encouraging community members from Orillia and beyond to bid. It is our hope that there will be hundreds of items available to be bid on for the whole week leading up to the gala.
Bidding has never been easier. You will receive real-time notifications when you have been outbid, upping your chances of winning your favourite items! You can even set max-bid amounts and let the system do the bidding for you (we told you it was easy!).
When the auction closes, simply pay for your items with a credit card and the Foundation will make arrangements with you to get your items.
Who can donate items?
We are happy to accept donations from anyone who wishes to contribute to our silent auction. We kindly ask that donations are unused and unopened. We are accepting item donations up until Friday, October 2nd.
This year’s auction will reach thousands of community members and donors will receive more recognition for their generosity than ever before!
What types of items are we interested in?
Items that typically sell for the highest bids in our silent auctions include: electronics, sporting tickets or memorabilia, gift certificates, unique wines and liquors, home décor, jewellery and experiences! Those are just a few suggestions. We are happy to accept all types of items or donations of services. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
How can I donate an item?

When can I start bidding?
The auction will be open for bidding starting on Friday, October 9th up until Friday, October 16th – the evening of the gala — until 10 pm.
Who can bid?
Anyone who is over the age of 18 and registers is eligible to place bids.
How can I bid?
We have a mobile bidding platform (details to come) that makes it easy for you to place bids from your phone, desktop or tablet! You can quickly view all items, descriptions and stipulations prior to placing your bid. You can even sort the items by category – including items without bids if you are looking for a deal!
