Q: What is the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital Foundation and what is its purpose?

The OSMH Foundation is a charity whose purpose is to raise funds in support of the highest priority needs of Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital.

Q: How much has the OSMH Foundation raised to date?

Since 1998, the Foundation, in partnership with our community and corporate sponsors, has raised more than $65 million towards patient care at OSMH. Currently, we are fundraising for urgently needed equipment and technology, as well as continuing education for our healthcare professionals.

Q: Can I designate my donation to a specific area or program in the Hospital?

Yes, you can decide exactly where your donation will go. While the Hospital has identified priority equipment needs, you may still direct your contribution to a specific program, department or piece of equipment.

Q: How will I know my gift is doing what it is supposed to do?

The OSMH Foundation believes in being accountable to its donors. We will tell you what you helped us achieve through regular newsletters (print and email), this website and our annual report. In some cases you will receive updates about the program or area to which you have contributed.

Q: How can I get involved?

There are many different ways to get involved. You can make a donation, help organize a community event, or donate your time as a volunteer. We encourage you to get involved.

Q: What are the different ways to make a donation?

Yes, there are a variety of ways to make a donation. You can make a one time or monthly gift using your credit card online or a Planned Gift through your estate and leave a lasting legacy.

Q: Is there a minimum amount for a donation?

No, there is no minimum amount. We appreciate any contribution toward the improvement of our hospital, no matter how small the donation.

Q: Do I get a tax receipt for my donation?

We issue tax receipts for all qualifying donations to Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Q: Will my information be disclosed if I make a donation?

No, your information will not be disclosed if you make a donation. Your privacy is our responsibility.  All donor information is kept strictly confidential.
